The improvement since Sunday, or even yesterday, is substantial. I can nap on the couch without hacking myself awake most of the time; my coughing spasms are usually brief rather than unending; I have more energy. If I make the same improvement tomorrow, I may spend the whole day working—wow, what a luxury! Today, by contrast, was reading, petting puppies, watching stuff unrelated to time travel, browsing the web. Enjoyable if I was on vacation … but I’m not. And I’m ready to be back doing my work.
Nights, though, are tougher. I cough more in the evenings, and the coughs come harder and longer. And after i drift off too sleep, sooner or later they snap me out of it. Takes a while to calm my system down (apparently night-asthma is a thing). And I wonder just how long it will take to get back to normal. Probably into next week, which is when my strongest drug runs out.
But hey, at least I’m not dying of a lethal Kryptonian plague. (Art by Curt Swan, all rights to current holder. Epic story inside by Edmond Hamilton and Swan).
